How Often Should I Use the Genesis UX4?

The ideal operating schedule depends on the size of your space, occupancy, airflow, and your personal preferences. Because HOCl is gentle for everyday use, the Genesis UX4 can be operated as often as needed to maintain continuous air and surface coverage.

When first introducing the UX4 into a new environment—particularly in areas with noticeable musty odors or spaces that haven't been treated previously—you may choose to operate the unit more frequently during the first several days. This initial period helps establish consistent air and surface coverage throughout the room.

Everyday Operation

Once your desired level of freshness has been achieved, many users find that operating the UX4 daily or every other day provides an effective routine for maintaining a cleaner-feeling indoor environment. The five-button control panel allows you to easily customize output levels and operating schedules to suit virtually any space.

Use in the Genesis 2.6 HOCl Fogger with a 2:1 dilution ratio (water to HOCl) for maximum performance, to aggressively and quickly tackle intense airborne mold and odors in large spaces.

Use in the Genesis UX4 Stationary Atomizer with a 9:1 dilution ratio (water to HOCl). The lower dilution is recommended for the UX4, which can operate intermittently in a 'maintenance mode' to provide continual purifying and cleansing of air.

The stationary UX4 atomizer effectively covers up to 650 square feet, making it ideal for various indoor environments. For optimal performance, place it on a countertop or elevated surface to maximize airflow and ensure quicker, more even distribution.

While it can be placed in the center of a room for balanced coverage, it’s also effective when positioned near the edge of a room. If placing it on the floor, take precautions to prevent it from being accidentally knocked over.

For best results, ensure the area around the UX4 allows for unobstructed airflow, enhancing its ability to treat air and surfaces efficiently.

A temporary chlorine-like smell can actually be a sign that HOCl is working. High-quality HOCl solutions have very little odor by themselves. When they contact organic contamination—such as pet urine, body oils, or other organic residues—the oxidation process can temporarily produce a mild chlorine-like scent. As the reaction finishes and the HOCl naturally breaks down, the odor quickly dissipates.

HOCl isn't "watered-down bleach." It's a different molecule altogether. Bleach is sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl). HOCl is hypochlorous acid—the same molecule your white blood cells naturally produce as part of your innate immune response.
